The ambient temperature has a great influence on the battery. If the ambient temperature is too high, the battery will be overcharged to produce gas. If the ambient temperature is too low, the battery will be overcharged to produce gas.
It will cause the battery to be undercharged, which will affect the service life of the battery. Therefore, the ambient temperature is generally required to be around 25 C, and the floating charge voltage of Shante UPS is also set according to this temperature.

Charging and discharging currents of batteries are generally expressed in terms of C. The actual value of C is related to the capacity of batteries. For example, if it's a 100AH battery: C = 100A. The optimum charging current of Matsushita lead-acid maintenance-free battery is about 0.1C, and the charging current must not be greater than 0.3C. Excessive or low charging current will affect the service life of batteries. Discharge current generally requires 0.05~3C, UPS can meet this requirement in normal use, but also to prevent accidents, such as battery short circuit.

4) Charging Voltage
Because UPS batteries belong to standby mode of operation, they are in charge state under normal conditions, and discharge only when power failure occurs. In order to prolong the service life of batteries, Shante UPS chargers are generally controlled by constant voltage and current limitation. When the batteries are full, they will be converted to floating charging state. The floating charging voltage of each cell is set at about 13.7V. If the charging voltage is too high, the battery will be overcharged, and vice versa, the battery will be undercharged. The abnormal charging voltage may be caused by the incorrect battery configuration or the failure of charger. Therefore, when installing batteries, we must pay attention to the correctness of the specifications and quantities of batteries. Batteries of different specifications and batches should not be mixed. External charger should not use inferior charger, and heat dissipation should be considered when installing.

The effect of discharge depth on battery life is also very large. The deeper the discharge depth, the less the number of cycles it uses. Therefore, deep discharge should be avoided in use. Although Shante UPS has the function of battery low potential protection, when a single battery discharges to about 10.5V, UPS will automatically shut down, but if UPS is discharged under light or no-load conditions, it will also cause deep discharges of batteries.

Batteries should be checked regularly after a certain period of time, such as observing whether their appearance is abnormal, measuring whether the voltage of each battery is average, etc. If the battery is not powered up for a long time, it will always be in charge state, which will make the battery's activity worse.
